Alumna, Urban Studies / Community Development
About
Following my research work on post-conflict peacebuilding and community development, I would like to pursue a degree in Public Policy where I delve into the policy arena while still making connections to the participatory methods of community development strategies. More specifically, I'd like to take a look at community development strategies, education initiatives and its impact on both peacebuilding at a local level and policy making at a national level.
My interest in this is fueled by my passion for the promotion of quality education from childhood to adulthood and its positive correlation with individual, communal, and national development and progress. The best return on investment a country can make is made when it invests its resources on education. In conflict and post-conflict areas, it is that much more important for governments to support and promote policies that will guarantee quality education for its most vulnerable citizens.
